Re: Steele Weather Stripping is disappointing
Not offhand. BUT, the last car I put new weather stripping on was my old Meteor. I bought new door and trunk lid seals. I finally got something usable after the 3rd vendor! Even then it didn’t really fit correctly. I had to actually cut about 3” off to get the door seal weather stripping to fit. The...

Re: Scary movies of yesteryear
I love the old scary movies. The modern gore ones do nothing for me. My kids will watch these, but they seem boring. I remember a few movies I saw on TV when I was a kid that scared the heck out of me. The Haunting was one of those, the old version. I think it was remade a few years ago. I like that...

You know, I just realized he might have been logging on to the old web site. I posted this web site new address.
He has a thread over on Performance Years.

Re: I plan to disable registration
Hey Bill. Is the registration still on hold?
Reason I’m asking is Vid got a new car and tried logging in here, but said he couldn’t log on. It would be a shame to lose a long time member.

Re: Are Bulletin Boards (forums) a thing of the past?
That’s what I hear. I don’t Facebook,so I don’t know firsthand. Some people have complained that the Facebook car info isn’t always all that good anyway.

Re: Early Christmas shopping
Exactly. It seems like everything is a compromise when it comes to caliber, size, auto vs revolver, ect. This is actually the first semi auto I’ve ever bought. I was sold on revolvers. And own a few. But even the trigger pull on my revolvers hurts my wife’s hands. After a lot of thought and reading ...

Early Christmas shopping
My wife and I have our CCW. My wife has been bugging me for a few years for her own gun. One of those things where we’re always too busy or not enough money to spare, so it got put off. Well, after going to the store to pick up more shells for hunting season, I was surprised at how bare the shelves ...

Re: COVID-19 and Thanksgiving?
Rich, it should be a good day. I get tired of football after the first game anyway, so it will keep us busy too.
Bill, I hope your grandson is OK. Bummer that the plans had to change.

Re: COVID-19 and Thanksgiving?
After my parents passed away years ago, our Thanksgiving has been hit or miss. We used to host it at our old house for my sisters, their husbands, and kids. But some years they would go to their in-laws places. I moved a few years ago and was going to my sisters house in Madison about an hour away, ...

Re: Paint for Rear End Carrier
Are you 100% sure you want high gloss? They get kind of dusty too. A semi glosss is usually used. I mean to each their own, but a high gloss will also show off piting and imperfections. The last one I painted I had sandblasted and used a rustoleum semi gloss black on. Not saying it’s the best, but l...

Re: My love/hate relationship
I agree with both of you. Yeah Bill I do have that voice in my head too. My parents were raised in the depression, and passed that penny pinching on to me. I feel guilty paying someone to do something I could do myself. When I was younger I did work myself out of necessity also, because I couldn’t a...

Great kids Christmas present
I’m getting this for my 12 year old for Christmas. I’ve actually seen them cheaper on other sites, just an example here. Maybe it’s the car guy in me, but these are cool as hell IMO. You can actually get them in 4 cylinder,2 cylinders, old school V8 design, ect I would have been excited to get someth...

My love/hate relationship
The older I get, the less I work on my own vehicles. Many times because I’m just too busy to get to it myself. Sometimes because I don’t care for the newer vehicles and the aggravation that I go through working on them. About a month ago I had a coolant leak on my Duramax. The leaking fitting was ne...

Good!
My wife’s nephew was killed in Iraq a few years back. She and her family have gone to Arlington every year ever since. She was mad as heck when I told her about this.
