This tale of bad leather and poor treatment by the vendor/manufacturer of my Corvette's leather seat covers is finally over. The seats are back in the car and I'm satisfied with the new leather. The End.

This afternoon I retrieved my two seats with covers re-installed from the upholstery shop. Will be installing them in the car soon.

On Tuesday of this week, the rep from Corvette America contacted me to tell me the new leather was ready for shipment. It is in transit and will arrive Saturday. I've already spoke with the upholsterer and expect to bring everything to his shop for installation on my seat frames this coming Monday. ...

The pump increases the vacuum level in the booster canister. When it drops, the vac pump turns on to raise the vacuum level again and then shuts off. I suppose that an extra (separate) vac canister might prevent the pump from turning on and off so much, but I am not sure of that.

The vacuum pump is fully installed and the brake assist is far better than before. It is quiet too.

Just a short follow-up for those interested. The Leed Brakes rotary vane vacuum pump arrived yesterday and today I've been working out the engineering details to mount it in the engine bay in the cavity where the charcoal canister lives. It was 3 weeks ago that the vendor rep promised the leather parts would be done. Nope. Now it's another week to wait. Amazingly poor customer service. Why should it take a month's time to manufacture two seat bottoms and two seat backs?
